Do I need an EBSCO account?
You don't need an EBSCO account to search and use EBSCO databases, but creating a free EBSCO account will let you save your search results so that you can access them later, organize your saved search results in folders, download ebooks, create alerts, etc.

To create a free EBSCO account:

1) Go into any EBSCO database.

2) Once in an EBSCO database, click the Sign In link from the blue menu bar that you'll see toward the top right-hand corner.

3) Next to "Don't have an account?", click on the Sign up link and fill out the form that you'll see on the resulting page.

4) For email address, you can use either your personal or your UMGC email address.

5) For password, note that your password must be at least six characters long and must contain at least one number and one special character. Your password can't contain your e-mail address or any common phrases.

6) After you finish creating the account, you should then be able to click the Sign In link and log into your personal EBSCO account.

For more information, see How to Create and Manage a MyEBSCOhost Account.

For instructions on saving items to a MyEBSCO account, see How to Use the MyEBSCO folder.

Note that EBSCO accounts are completely separate from MyUMGC accounts, so your MyUMGC log-in information will not work for an EBSCO account.
