The Standard Industrial Classification [SIC] and North American Industrial Classification [NAICS] are code systems developed by the US government to assist in the description, collection of statistics on, and reporting about American industries.  You can use the following tools to find codes associated with a specific industry:

• NAICS

Many large, complex industries (for example, information technology) are broken down into sub-industries under SIC and NAICS.
