There are two kinds of case studies from Harvard: Harvard Business Review (HBR) case studies, and Harvard Business School case studies.

  • HBR case studies are available in Business Source Ultimate and look like the example below:

It is fine to link to HBR case studies in online classrooms.

  • Harvard Business School case studies aren't available in full text from any of the library's databases, although you may find a record such as the one in the example below:

 These case studies are available from Harvard Business Publishing, and Harvard's information for the case studies will look like the example below:

In order for a class to use a Harvard Business School case study as an assigned reading, the reading would need to be licensed from Harvard Business Publishing. The relevant Program Director and Director of Learning Solutions would need to complete and submit a Cost Justification Form in order to request approval to use the case study as an assigned reading.
