Q. What is 24/7 Library Chat?

The UMGC Library now offers 24/7 chat reference services! 

As of December 1st, 2022, the UMGC Library will offer 24/7 chat services. Whenever UMGC Librarians are unavailable (particularly during evenings &  weekends) students will still be able to chat with academic librarians from all over the world. 

When can I speak to a UMGC Librarian?

The UMGC Librarians will still be available via the Ask a Librarian chat Monday-Friday 10AM-5PM EST. Students can still receive reference and library-related assistance 24/7 from an academic librarian outside of those hours. See our Hours page for more information.

What if the 24/7 librarians can't answer my question?

The 24/7 librarians can answer all sorts of library-related questions. Questions that pertain to other topics, such as question about the LEO classroom, other technical issues outside of the library, etc., may be more difficult to answer. If a 24/7 librarian is unable to answer your question, they will create a follow-up email ticket for the UMGC Librarians to reply to and answer your question.
