Q. Why can’t I request a USMAI physical book?

If you are trying to request a USMAI book but cannot, you may have an outstanding fine, fee, or a block. To check your account, go to OneSearch and click Sign in in the upper right corner.

Next, click on your name in the upper right corner. Select Library Card from the dropdown menu.

Once in your Library Card Overview, you will be able to see the status of your loans, requests, and any fines, fees, or blocks associated with your account.

If you owe a fine or fee or have a block, you will see a short summary will appear in the Overview. For more information, click the FINE + FEES and/or the BLOCKS + MESSAGES links near OVERVIEW. You will need to contact the USMAI school that issued the fine, fee, or block to pay the amount due or otherwise resolve the problem. You may contact us for more information or support, but we cannot accept payment for another institution and cannot remove a block without the other institution's intervention.
