Do I need a MyEBSCO account?
You don't need a MyEBSCO account to search and use EBSCO databases, but creating a free MyEBSCO account will let you save your search results so that you can access them later, organize your saved search results in folders, download ebooks, create alerts, etc.

To create a free MyEBSCO account:

  1.  Go into any EBSCO database.
  2. Once in an EBSCO database, click the MyEBSCO link toward the top right-hand corner.
  3. Click on the Create an account link toward the bottom of the box that will appear.
  4. Provide the requested information.
    • For Email address, you can use either your personal or your UMGC email address.
    • For password, you must create a password that is at least six characters long and that contains at least one number and one special character. Your password can't contain your email address, your user name, or any common phrases.
  5. After you finish creating the account, you should then be able to click the Sign In link and log into your personal EBSCO account.

For more information, see How to Create and Manage a MyEBSCO Account.

For information about accessing information saved in the pre-June 2025 EBSCO interface, see How can I access my classic user interfaces MyEBSCO data from EBSCO's new user interfaces?.

Note that EBSCO accounts are completely separate from MyUMGC accounts, so your MyUMGC log-in information will not work for an EBSCO account.
